Christian was an exceptional human being and role model, whose life was cut short by cancer in 2009.
Shortly after being diagnosed in 2008, at the age of 39, Christian was determined not only to fight the disease, but to help children who were also fighting cancer, to receive proper treatment. After a thorough research, Christian joined forces with Casa de la Amistad in Mexico City. Casa de la Amistad is a treatment center whose mission is to offer integral support to children of low income families who are diagnosed with cancer in Mexico. It is recognized internationally, and is the leading foundation of its kind in Mexico. In their 19 years of operation, they've treated over 5,000 cases. Unfortunately, there are over 7,000 new cases of youth cancer registered every year, and cancer remains the second cause of death among children in the country.
Christian's goal was to raise enough money to help 7 children through treatment. In less than a year, Christian surpassed this goal and raised enough money to help -- children undergo treatment.
On November 1st 2009, our dear Christian passed away. His legacy and determination lives on through this foundation, which aims to continue Christian's efforts and raise enough money to help more children and young adults receive cancer treatments at Casa de la Amistad. Our goal is to help at least 7 children (Christian's lucky number) through treatment every year.
